It has been difficult to find sports clothes that are ethically produced, but one such company, based in California, is Greenlight Apparel. They produce sports clothes in the developing world and are driven to do good through a focus on both the environment and social justice.
In addition to investing in the fair treatment of the individuals in their supply chain, they donate a significant percentage of their profits to charitable partner organisations which work in microfinance and education.
Greenlight Apparel have the smallest range of clothes out of all the companies we have bought from; in fact by purchasing one jacket I own 50% of all the men’s items they currently sell! However, I rate this jacket really highly.
It is soft and really light, it is great for sport and works really well as a jacket for daily life. It cost $60 and came with free shipping as do all orders over $50. Currently they only ship within the US.
Good quality sports clothes from a company whose mission is summed up by “Give a person a fish and they will eat for a day, teach them how to fish and they will eat for a lifetime”.
